Arrival in Puerto Maldonado & Transfer to Eco-Lodge
Our representative will pick you up from the Airport or bus station upon your arrival, after we will ride boat to our eco-lodge where we will accommodate you. Along the journey, enjoy views of the rainforest and possible wildlife sightings. After settling into your lodge, enjoy a guided walk through the surrounding jungle to learn about medicinal plants, insects, and local flora. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an optional night walk to observe nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, insects, and caimans.
Macaw Clay Lick & Amazon Jungle Exploration
Early in the morning, travel by boat to visit the famous macaw clay lick, where colorful macaws and parrots gather to feed on mineral-rich clay. After breakfast, return to the lodge for guided rainforest hikes or canopy walks to spot monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, relax at the lodge or explore nearby trails. At night, enjoy a guided boat excursion to search for caimans along the riverbanks.
Lake Sandoval & Wildlife Observation
After breakfast, head to Lake Sandoval, one of the most beautiful oxbow lakes in the region. Canoe across calm waters while observing giant river otters, turtles, black caimans, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a peaceful walk around the lake and learn about the local ecosystem from your guide. In the afternoon, return to the lodge for leisure time or optional activities. Return Journey to Puerto Maldonado & Departure
Enjoy an early breakfast before departing the lodge by boat back to Puerto Maldonado. During the return journey, take in the final views of the Amazon rainforest and watch for wildlife along the river.
